Punjab Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Sahibzada Syed Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah has said that Islam was against terrorism and stressed that every bearded person wearing shalwar qameez cannot be deemed terrorist.

He stated this while addressing 'Ulema Mushaikh Conference' arranged by Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department Punjab, at Tehsil Municipal Administration Hall, Faisalabad. Provincial Secretary Auqaf, Muhammad Javed Iqbal Awan and Director Religious Affairs Dr Muhammad Qamar also spoke on the occasion, states a handout.

Prominent Ulema and Mushaikh including Allama Muhammad Yousaf Anwar (Ahle Hadith), Allama Agha Abdul Hassan Sarhadi (Ahle Tashih), Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi (Deobandi), Khawaja Waheed Ahmed Qadri (Barelvi), Javed Akhtar Qadri of PML Ulema & Mushaikh Wing, Fazal-ur-Rehman Naqshbandi, Pir Muhammad Din Golarvi, Abdul Ghaffar Khalid and other Ulema assured the government of their full co-operation.

Later, the Minister visited Jamia Islamia Imdadia and Madrisa Jamia Qasmia.

He discussed in detail various matters and offered Fateha at the Mazar of Maulana Zia-ul-Qasmi, the founder of the religious institute.

Addressing a gathering of teachers and students at "Bait Qasmi" the minister said Islam lays great emphasis on peace and brotherhood and Muslims must also try to practice these values, adding that the government has been striving hard for the eradication of crimes from the society.

The minister also visited Jamia Qadria and addressed the teachers and students there. He offered Fateha at the Mazar of Maulana Muhammad Sardar Ahmed at Jhang Bazar and eulogised the services rendered by the of late Maulana for the cause of Islam and said, his contribution would be remembered for long time.
